Why VLM?

There are dozens of outfitters in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW) that can handle the logistics of a canoe trip, but Voyageurs Lutheran Ministry does more than just provide gear for your adventure. Our staff are trained to lead your youth group, college ministry team, adult fellowship group, or family into the wilderness to discover nature’s wonders and relate the entire experience to your faith life. Daily Bible studies enhance and enrich your journey.

For more than 50 years, groups from all over the country have come to the northwoods of Minnesota to explore the power and splendor of the BWCAW with the guidance of Voyageurs Lutheran Ministry staff. So now it’s your turn! We would like to invite you to join us in an adventure-based canoe trip involving challenge, trust, risk, sharing and exploring the unknown.

“Our guide was very informative, able to do anything needed, and was spiritually inspiring for our group. He motivated my faith as well as our kids’ and drew out those who normally wouldn’t share, or even pray, in a group. He really helped make this trip such a wonderful experience and spiritually uplifting.” – Adult Supervisor from South Dakota
